CLEVELAND, Ohio – On February 8th, GiveBackHack and the Veale Youth Entrepreneurship Forum collaborated to host the first GiveBackLabs event of 2024. The event was a day-long hackathon focused on addressing pressing issues related to justice and inclusion.

The event brought together eight community experts and high school students to develop innovative business ideas aimed at addressing various social issues. The collaborative environment enabled young entrepreneurs to work closely with experienced professionals who provided guidance to refine and strengthen their ideas.

GiveBackHack aims to empower younger generations to become catalysts for positive change. Throughout the event, students actively participated in brainstorming sessions, refining their ideas with guidance from community experts. As the day progressed, students tested their ideas by seeking feedback from their peers. The event culminated in final pitches, where students presented their refined business ideas.

By combining the forces of GiveBackHack and the Veale Youth Entrepreneurship Forum, GiveBackLabs 2024 succeeded in providing a platform for cultivating social entrepreneurship. The event not only sparked creativity but also reinforced the importance of collaboration and community involvement in driving positive change.

We want to express our gratitude to Austin Drabik, Tahlayah Morrow, Alicia Gregory, Esther Ngemba, Ian Meadows, Debra Whittingham, Ron Smith, and Alison Leddy for their expert insights, and to Owen Meyers for co-facilitating the event, making the event a success!
